May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day.

May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.

May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue.

And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.”

That Miracle Is You

    With times comes wisdom
    With wisdom comes lines
    The beauty and the character
    Of your face defines

    Each line tells a story
    Of a lifetime spent
All the pain you have suffered
All the love you have earned

    They tell of happiness
    Joy, struggles, and sorrow
    Your wisdom to pass on
    To the children of tomorrow

They show if you are bitter
Or have lived life with the flow
And they show all the lessons
    That your soul should know

    So wear them with pride
    Don't hide them away
They show how you have lived
    And learnt each day.

    Don't have them removed
    Or the treasures they hide
    Your lines show the beauty
    Of the miracle inside

                          The Great Spirit Prayer
Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, whose breath gives life to all the world.

Hear me; I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.

Help me to remain calm and strong in the face of all that comes towards me.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

Help me seek pure thoughts and act with the intention of helping others.

Help me find compassion without empathy overwhelming me.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy, Myself.

Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes.

So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.

The Essence of Me.

Take the essence of all that is me
And make me live on for all to see
That life does not end with the last breath
I will not leave you even in death

Look for me in the clouds and the sky
Hear my voice as the wind blows by
Look for me in the hearth, watch the coal
See how the embers reflect my soul

The burning brightness carries the name
Which echoes my spirit's eternal flame
When you speak of me and tell my life
It will ease the pain of burden and strife

Know I am with you in the morning glow
When from sleep you wake, whisper hello
I will be there beside you, my spirit so close
And the memories shared, alive, not a ghost

I pray for the needs of all those across this small planet who are in great need this day, and especially for:_______. I am mindful of all those who suffer because of the winter weather, of all who suffer because they experience on this Wednesday the winter of war, of those who know the cold winds of oppression and violence. May all who suffer this day experience your compassion through their brothers and sisters.

May this morning prayer awaken me to turn the needs of all who ask me for help this day into my personal needs. May this brief time of prayer make me aware that the needs of those whom I assist are really your needs. Grant me the grace to see you in all whom I meet and serve. With that sacred vision this prayer of communion with you will have no end.

Blessed and beautiful are you, my God.

May your light be my sun this winter day.

This prayer is from Edward Hays's Prayers from a Planetary Pilgrim.

A Hindu Prayer for Peace...

Oh God, lead us from the unreal to the Real.
Oh God, lead us from darkness to light.
Oh God, lead us from death to immortality.
Shanti, Shanti, Shanti unto all.
Oh Lord God almighty, may there be peace in celestial regions.
May there be peace on earth.
May the waters be appeasing.
May herbs be wholesome, and may trees and plants bring peace to all.
May all beneficent beings bring peace to us.
May the Vedic Law propagate peace all through the world.
May all things be a source of peace to us.
And may thy peace itself bestow peace on all and may that peace come to me also.

Seasons of Life

The autumn leaves are falling,
A rich tapestry of colour,
Blanketing the ground,
With crisp leaves of burnished gold,
Like the richness of a life well lived,
Followed by the cold white death of winter,
Spreading its frost coated branches,
In an eerie lifeless wave against the ice blue sky.
At this time we should not doubt the coming of spring,
When all life is re-born,
As like the seasons we are re-born,
To once again experience,
The bountiful harvest of summer.

Though tempests rage within your soul
and life seems dark and cold and cruel.
When night, it seems is never ending
and dawn,s light ever slow descending.
DO NOT DESPAIR, YOUR GOD IS THERE.

If all around is deep black gloom
you lie awake within your room
dreading what the morning heralds
bringing unseen frightening perils.
DO NOT DESPAIR, YOUR GOD IS THERE.

When life becomes a painful task
at lowest ebb you may well ask
if life will take an upward turn
or spiral further deeper down.
DO NOT DESPAIR, YOUR GOD IS THERE.

You WILL find strength to climb the hills.
You WILL find rest from all life,s ills.
You WILL find peace of mind one day.
You MAY find time to sit and pray.
DO NOT DESPAIR, YOUR GOD IS THERE.

Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord,
make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me bring love;
Where there is injury, forgiveness;
Where there is discord, unity;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is error, truth;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in forgiving that we are forgiven,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

A Beautiful DreamMr Sandman please send me a beautiful dream.

So I can escape from the madness to the land where the love and the happiness grows.
Far away from this world filled with sadness to a world where everything’s equal.
Where there can be no discrimination
Where everyone’s happy and full of content.
Where there can only be one nation.
In this world there can be no trouble, no terror, no misery, no tears.
Where all guns and bombs are a thing of the past.
Where we can all live without fear.
So please Mr Sandman, can we all have this dream.
And live in a dream that is true
In a world that is filled with love and peace and contentment for me and for you.

A Cherokee Prayer...

Cherokee Prayer

Oh Great Spirit who made all races. Look kindly on the whole human family and take away the arrogance and hatred which separates us from our brothers.

......................................................................

Faith.

The fatherhood of God is what we’ve been taught to say.

The Brotherhood of Man is apparent every day.

In this world so full of pain

We find it so hard to have faith again.

Sometimes we need to stop and look,

all around us restored faith and humanity can

be read like a book.

No grand gestures to be found.

What we are looking for is closer to the ground.

Not in literal terms, not in that way,

but in all small things we do and say.

The glimpses of light, in family, friends and love,

take flight before us like the wings of a dove.

The dove resembles peace, the peace found in our heart

When small gestures of live can set us world apart.

Away from the anguish, the hurt and the pain

to find faith that this world will find peace again.

Faith in humanity, faith in mankind.

Faith can restore us forever remind.

As you sit there in your cosy homes
With food upon the table
As you go about your easy life
Imagine, if you’re able
To see the war-torn misery
Upon the Children’s faces
To understand the dark despair
The fighting of the races.
How can we sit and just ignore
Man’s inhumanity
The Children are the Future
Yet we refuse to see
The torture, the starvation

What is this War about?
Why are we staying silent?
Why don’t we scream and shout?
We can help to stop all War
And speak as if one voice
To show the world another way
That there is a better choice.

Count Your Blessings

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.

Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.

Count your health instead of your wealth;
Love your neighbor as much as yourself.

"An Autumn Day"
Pumpkins in the cornfields,
Gold among the brown,
Leaves of rust and scarlet
Trembling slowly down;
Birds that travel southward,
Lovely time to play;
Nothing is as pleasant
As an autumn day!

Margaret McMahon Beattie;

A wee verse that came to me early this morning when I couldn't sleep. If you feel you can relate to it, then it is for you.

I want to go to that special place.
Where love and joy and happiness waits.
Just to sit and be with you.
Remember the things we used to do.
Bring back the laughter we once shared
when life we lived without a care.
I know you’re with me when times are tough.
You calm and guide me through the rough.
With your special presence and tender love.
I know am blessed from up above.
up above.

A Place for Us to Go

Heading through the big Iron Gate,
down the meadow we would go.
And see a world before us,
So beautiful that we would just know.

That in this special place,
Where the wild flowers grow.
That here would be our haven,
A place where we can go.

To find our mother nature,
the pure and golden light.
The beauty all around us,
Watching life take flight.

Even when those days are gone
and adults we would be.
All we need is to shut our eyes
and back there we would be.

Each and every one of us,
have such a place as this.
A tiny speck of memory,
our individual bliss.

Somewhere to take our hearts and minds,
a place where we can go.
To calm our own spirit,
to encourage it to grow.

So take a little minute,
that’s all it needs to be.
To find that place within us,
Where ever is may be.

. "Dear Ancestor"

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

My Angel

Who lifts me up when I feel down?
Who makes me smile when I want to frown?
Who wraps me in her warming gown?
My angel.

Who's there for me when life seems bad?
Who cheers me up when I feel sad?
Who's the best friend I ever had?
My angel.

Who wipes away tears that I cry?
Who never ever says goodbye?
Who's there for me until I die?
My angel.

Who's there when no one else is there?
Who's there to give me love and care?
Whose love is more than I can bear?
My angel.

Who's there for me in rain or shine?
Whose loving touch is so divine?
Who promised she'd always be mine?
My angel.

Whose thoughts are always with me?
Whose love goes deeper than the sea?
Who tells me to be who I want to be?
My angel.

THE PRINCIPLES

The fatherhood of God, and all his creation,
The brotherhood of man, all creeds of all nations,
The communion of spirits, and their ministry so true,
To all men, and all women, and all children too.

The continuous existence if the human soul,
As we all live our lives in the great spirits control,
Personal responsibility, in the life that we lead,
Compensation and retribution for the good and evil deeds.

Be considerate to others, be caring and kind
Give help where it is needed, not turn an eye blind,
We need have no fear when the final bell tolls,
Eternal progress is open to every human soul.

Communication

Two sides of life,
seen and unseen.
Before and after,
what does it mean?

God lets us work,
in realms unseen.
Conveying love,
in days and dreams.

To know we can come through,
part the veil and say hello.
Support our loved ones,
and let them know.

That we can be angels
Here and beyond.
The link is there,
the message is care.

God’s ascended beings,
the Divine host.
Bring their special help
When we need it most.

Whatever we do,
the principle is true.
God’s love,
transcends all

Cherokee - New Year Prayer and Blessing...

Oh Great Spirit I raise smoke to the four sacred winds and the four corners, so that the blessings can reach my brothers and sisters all in every corner of Great Mother Earth while the smoke disperses all over Father Sky and lit by Mother Moon

Let the smoke pass to each their blessing and do away with all sorrows and unhappiness, fill their homes with love, and the light of your wisdom. If any be sick cure them if sad make them happy if they have needs fulfill them.

Protect them from all evil. Please Father Keep them well in good health give them long life and wealth. Give them all your love as they love you.

They can give testimony to your power and mercy, and most important your love. Oh Great Father in heaven I love you with all my heart as I love my brothers and sisters all. I am your servant and theirs. I ask for only one thing give me Strength to keep going on doing as I do on the Red Road. Amen, Amen, Amen.

Creation

I am each blade of grass, each grain of sand
The skies, the seas and all the lands
I am the sun that shines, the moonlight glow
Each summer breeze and winter snow

I am each wing in flight, all life in water
In every form of organic matter
I am in every human and every beast
And in every nutrient for life to feast

I rotate life in circles, I rotate each season
I made all with a purpose and all for a reason
I am the music of life, each sight and sound
There is nowhere that~ I can’t be found

Every life form I made in intricate balance
Each unique~ a wondrous challenge
I made all things for all to share
I am Creation ~ I am everywhere

Natures Gift

A meadow full of flowers as far as the eye can see
A fragrant carpet of colour that means the world to me
The sun cascading through the trees
Opening the flower buds for the bees

Peace and tranquillity within natures grasp
A haven for wildlife, present and past
Time stands still and the mind become clear
Memories of childhood and all I hold dear

God created beauty of that we can't deny
Mother nature nurtures it, on that we can rely
The future is in a hurry and fast becoming a myth
So take the time to enjoy, what nature has blessed us with.

A little change from poetry - An Australian Aboriginal Prayer...

A DREAMING PRAYER

Creator Spirit,

you created all things, seen and unseen,

listen to our silent prayer as we stand here before you.

Our weary eyes look back over distant horizons, back to those days where our people walked.

The footprints of our ancestors are imprinted on the earth, and their images are real to us.

We see our grandfathers, standing tall and strong, warriors of long ago.

We see our grandmothers, strong and hard working women.

We hear them singing, we see them dancing, and our spirits move within us.

They told of emus fighting, and the kangaroos picking up the scent of our hunters …………

The images fade away as we feel the hurt of our people.

We can hear the cries of our grandmothers as they cry for their children.

Loving Creator, you can see us as we stand here and feel this hurt.

Let us walk with you, loving Creator, towards the dawning of a proud and new nation.

We thank you for our sacred being.

Spring

The grass is growing long and fast
Nature has sprung to life at last
Fresh buds appearing on the trees
Swarming with insects and busy bees

New life awakens everywhere
The gardens need some loving care
Birds are eager to feed their young
The sounds of life ~ are being sung

Dew in the mornings and spiders webs
The joy of life is rapidly spread
Flowers opening to reveal their hues
As the clouds move back to let the sun shine through

Children's laughter rings from the park
As the elderly sit on benches to chat
Cows in the meadows happily grazing
The gift of nature at it,s most amazing

New-born animals being raised
Little lambs beside their mothers laze
Butterflies flutter as rabbits bound
While all plant life bursts through the ground

Life in full blossom everywhere
On the land, the sea and in the air
The circle of life has spun again
The way it has ~ since time began

Lost Love...

Alone I sit and ponder,

Of how happy I would be,
If I could see my husband,
Sitting right across from me

He's gone on to a higher life,
So I'm told by those who know,
But what I cannot understand,
Is why had to go.

They see that time will ease the pain,
And I hope that this is true,
Because my darling husband,
I am still in love with you.

Though I walk this earth without you,
In my heart I know you care,
And together we will reunite,
When at last God calls me there.

Life can be hard.
Life can be bleak.
And sometimes its challenges can leave us quite weak
We search for the answers that don't seem to be there.
This fills our hearts with dread and despair.
But if we look deep within and search in our souls.
We know we can reach and achieve all our goals.
With god there to guide us.
We know he'll be there to guard and protect us with his love through pray.
So friends I would ask you to search deep in your soul.
The next time you think you can’t reach your goal.

Heartstrings
I still feel you close beside me
Your voice is in my head
I know you are still with me
Even though that you are dead

Every time that I call out for you
You send someone to me
To help me through the darkness
And give me light to see

You protected me in life
So i know that you still do
You always put me first
And I ~ believed in you

We have parted for a little while
I know we;ll meet again
Because you are my greatest love
And my true and loyal friend

Our hearts are joined forever
They cannot be torn apart
You will always be the truest love
That ever lived inside my heart

I Give Thanks

Great Spirit, Creator of all that we
see, hear, smell, taste, and all that we touch.
Mother Earth, Make Ina, womb of all beings,
Provider of all our needs.

Keeper of the West, home of the Thunder People,
place where Grandfather Sun sleeps at night.

Keeper of the North, home of the great White Giant,
from where fresh breezes blow.

Keeper of the East, land of the rising sun,
home to the big Red Mountain.

Keeper of the South, land that we always face,
from where the growing warmth comes.

I pray to the Stone Peoples, the Green Peoples, the Winged Peoples,
I pray to the Four-legged Peoples, the Swimming Peoples,
the Crawling Peoples, and to the Star Peoples.
I pray to all who give us food, clothing, medicine, dwellings, and designs

To the Ancestors of all the peoples,
I pray for their help in keeping us in balance and
teaching us the ways of the Creator and Mother Earth.

To the Star Peoples, Grandfather Sun, Grandmother Moon
I give thanks for their lighting our way in times of darkness.

To all these peoples, I give thanks for all the gifts and help
I get in my life each and every day.

For all these reasons and for life Itself, I give thanks

When I born, I black

When I grow up, I black

When I go in Sun, I black

When I scared, I black

When I sick, I black

And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow

When you born, you pink

When you grow up, you white

When you go in sun, you red

When you cold, you blue

When you scared, you yellow
When you sick, you green

And when you die, you grey

And you calling me colored??

The Rainbow...

There is a rainbow around my heart,
That speaks so softly yet so clear.
Reminds me of the friends I have,
The ones I hold so dear.

The love within the rainbow,
Its colours Green, Pink, Purple and Blue.
Surrounded by a golden light,
The ray’s radiation from me to you.

The rainbow holds such wisdom,
The softness of its love.
Is giving to us acceptance,
Of the Great Universal Love.

For within that love comes freedom,
Releasing any pain.
Allowing us to love ourselves,
So that we may live again.

IAIN

Think of me with a song in you heart
And a smile across your eyes
For I am only just a thought away
My spirit ~ Did not die

I hope I touched upon all your lives
In a positive and loving way
For then I',ll know my life was worthwhile
Doing my best for you each day

I know I could be stubborn
And would often speak my mind
But my words had love and a smile behind them
I was not ~ The hurtful kind!

My heart could burst with love
For my family, friends and all
I had so much there was plenty left
For all creatures ~ Great and small

Regrets ? I've only got a few
Because I showed my love for all of you
I had a full and happy life
Especially my love ~ For my son and my wife!

So to all my loved ones ~ Do not fear
For where ever you are I will always be near
I loved as much as I could each day
So I can honestly say ~ I did it my way

Annette Lavelle In memory of my much loved brother Iain

An Apache Prayer...

When I must leave you for a little while
please do not grieve and shed wild tears
and hug the sorrow through the years.
But start out bravely with a gallant smile
and for my sake and in my name,
live on and do all things the same.
Feed not your lonliness on empti days.
Fill each waking hour in useful ways.
Reach out your hand in comfort and cheer
and I in return will comfort you and hold you near.
And never, never be afraid to die
for I am waiting in the sky.

"mourn not the cacoon, the butterfly has flown"

Anon...

A Prayer.........

You who are over us,
You who are one of us,
You who are also within us,
May all see you-in me also.
May I prepare the way for you,
May I thank you for all
that shall fall to my lot,
May I also not forget the needs of others.
Give me a pure heart-that I may see you.
A humble heart-that I may hear you,
A heart of love-that I may serve you,
A heart of faith-that I may abide in you. Amen.

BEAUTY

The Beauty of earth is for all to enjoy,
For the birds, the animals and each girl and boy
For the fishes, the insects and each tiny creature
Are the trees and the flowers on earth such a feature.

There’s beauty to see, beauty to feel
Beauty to keep, its all very real.
The bloom of a Rose in the early light
Brings to us all just so much delight.

We must care for our  Planet., for it’s ours to keep
If you spoil it, it’s reason to weep.
To love it, to nurture it is our special task
And taking some care is all that I ask.

KARMA

If I point my finger what do I see?
The other three ~pointing back at me
I must not blame or try to judge
Nor let my heart bear a grudge

If someone should hurt me I must walk away
Because spiteful words I should not say
I should try to understand why they wished me harm
That they know no better and try to stay calm

A nasty person~ I don’t want to be
I want a warm loving heart inside of me
Trying to stick to what I’ve been taught
Behaving in a manner I ought

If someone plays mind games~ I let them play
It is not part of my own way
I have better things to think and do
Than to think of ways~ to get back at you

To send out badness is a stupid act
Because I know it would only bounce back
Its the law of the universe~~ cause and effect
So if I send only love I know what to expect

Mattie’s Poem

What do you see, nurses what do you see,
What are you thinking when you’re looking at me?
A crabby old woman, not very wise,
uncertain of habit, with faraway eyes.

Who dribbles her food and make no reply
when you say in a loud voice, “I do wish you’d try?
Who seems not to notice the things that you do,
and forever is losing a stocking or shoe.

Who resisting or not, lets you do as you will
with bathing and feeding, the long day to fill.
Is that what you’re thinking? Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse; you’re not looking at me.

I’ll tell you who I am, as I sit here so still,
as I use at your bidding, as I eat at your will.
I’m a small child of ten with a father and mother,
brothers’ and sisters, who love one another.

A young girl of sixteen, with wings on her feet,
dreaming that soon now a lover she’ll meet.
A bride soon at twenty-my heart gives a leap,
remembering the vows that I promised to keep.

At twenty five now, I have young of my own
who need me to guide them and a secure happy home.
A woman of thirty, my young now growing fast,

bound to each other with ties that should last.

At forty my young sons, have grown and are gone,
but my man’s beside me to see I don’t mourn.

At fifty, once more babies play round my knee.
again we know children, my loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me, my husband is dead;
I look to the future, I shudder with dread...
For my young are all rearing, young of their own,
and I think of the years and the love that I’ve know.

I’m now an old woman and nature is cruel;
‘tis jest to make old age look like a fool.
This body, it crumbles, grace and vigour depart,
there is now a stone where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass a young girl still dwells,
and now and again my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys, I remember the pain,
and I’m loving and living life over again.

I think of the years all too few, gone too fast,
and accept the stark fact that nothing can last.
So open your eyes nurses, open and see,
not a crabby old woman; look closer – see me

THE CRY WITHIN

“Oh to be me” came the cry within
Leaving me puzzled, my head in a spin.
Who am I ?  what am I  ? where am I going
The thoughts in my head encouraged my knowing

So.  I set out to find just what made me tick
And I’d better find out and find out real quick
For there is nothing so sad as a head that is muddled
And more and more I’d become more befuddled

The search within went on and on
As I looked for something to place faith upon
But the strength is within I found out one day
And there’s harmony too and some love to display

I soon became more  and more sure of myself
No longer afraid I’d be alone on the shelf
I know who I am and just what I am
And I can only just guess what is God’s plan

So never feel lonely and never be blue
I’m never alone and neither are you
We walk together this amazing path
And to feel God’s love is all we need ask.

A Horse's Prayer

To thee, my Master, I offer my prayer.
Feed me, water and care for me, and when the day's work is done, provide me with shelter, a clean, dry bed, and stall wide enough for me to lie down in comfort.

Always be kind to me. Your voice often means as much to me as the reins. Pet me sometimes, that I may serve you the more gladly and learn to love you. Do not jerk the reins, and do not whip me when going uphill. Never strike, beat, or kicks me when I do not understand you. Watch me, and if I fail to do your bidding, see if something is not wrong with my harness or feet.

Do not check me so that I cannot have free use of my head. If you insist that I wear blinkers, so that I cannot see behind me as it was intended I should, I pray you be careful that the blinders stand well out of my eyes. Do not overload me, or hitch me where water will drip on me. Keep me well shod. Examine my teeth when I do not eat, I may have an ulcerated tooth, and that, you know, is very painful. Do not tie my head in an unnatural position, or take away my best defence against flies and mosquitoes by cutting off my tail.

I cannot tell you when I am thirsty, so give me clean, cool water often. Save me, by all means in your power from that fatal disease - the glanders. I cannot tell you in words when I am sick, so watch me, that by signs you may know my condition. Give me all possible shelter from the hot sun, and put a blanket on me, not when I am working, but when I am standing in the cold. Never put a frosty bit in my mouth, first warm it by holding it a moment in your hands.

I try to carry you and your burden without a murmur, and wait patiently for you long hours of the day or night. Without the power to choose my shoes or path, I sometimes fall on hard pavement which I have often prayed might not be of wood but of such a nature as to give me safe and sure footing. Remember that I must be ready at any moment to lose my life in your service.

And finally, oh my Master, when my useful strength is gone, do not turn me out to starve or freeze, or sell me to some cruel owner, to be slowly tortured and starved to death, but do thou, My Master, take my life in the kindest way, and your God will reward you here and hereafter. You will not consider me irreverent if I ask this in the name of Him who was born in a stable.

God Gives Us the Assets

We are all given talents in all shapes and forms

We are each given the inner strength to weather any storm.

We all have the power to make up our own minds.

We as individuals choose if we are nasty or kind.

"You see" God gives us the assets to be individually unique.

To be the best you can be and reach our own highest peak.

He supplies us with the tools but leaves us no instructions.

So it's down to us humans to acknowledgeor cause destruction.

Some of us use those assets from the very start.

Yet others do not notice them until life's concluding part.

All that matters to God is that one day you see his love.

Then acknowledge love from Spirit and heavenly helpers from above.

It doesn't matter when or where or even how you get there. As long as at some point you find your heavenly flair.

You see in life we are all tested and forced to walk the line.

That's why God gives us the assets it's down to us to make them shine.

I feel I have an important message to tell.
The sons of men on earth do dwell.
The life is for learning, a journey for the soul.
To grow, to expand and make themselves whole.
Though the times might be dark and hidden from view, are the treasures above that are waiting for you.
So don’t be afraid to live in the light, where compassion and empathy are never far from sight.
Forgiveness should not be forgotten too, even though it is hard to do.  But rise above the barriers of fear and make your thoughts pure and clear.  That all over this word of matter. All men can see if we join our hearts together love will rule eternally.

A LIFE TO LIVE.

At times we laugh, at times we sigh
At the way life seems to pass us by
How many of us can truly say
That we have really lived each day

Weddings, funerals, births and such
Everyone making quite a fuss
Some movies and stories can bring a tear to the eye
Some treasured memories may also make us cry

Resolve to make the most of each day
So that when it is time to pass away
Regrets will be few, debts will be paid
Then you can go with a smile, when to your rest you are laid.

My angel.

Whose thoughts are always with me?
Whose love goes deeper than the sea?
Who tells me to be who I want to be?
My angel.

I have found several versions of this lovely poem but I think this is the original

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

POEM OF LIFE

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay…

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord

AS YOU LEAVE

Walk away from this world

Into the one that’s very near

Go with faith and confidence

It’s alright to leave me here

The transition is very simple

You have done it all before

Close your eyes in expectation

And open the other door

Don’t be apprehensive

You will see the Promised Land

There are those in Spirit who love you

Who are waiting to take your hand

The two worlds are so close

Really just a whisper away

Brush near me as you leave me

We’ll be together again one day

Go onwards before me

And make a home for two

Trust in the Master, Jesus

Who will journey home with you

I shall miss your familiar face

But love can never die

Two eternal spirits

Who cannot say goodbye.

Instead of a poem this week – the words of a much loved hymn.  It was my mother’s favourite hymn and was sung at her funeral…

Truly amazing words by Cecil Francis Alexander and as you read on you will see a verse that has been omitted by most hymnals

All Things Bright and Beautiful…

Refrain

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

[Most hymnals omit the following verse]

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

This week not so much a poem but inspirational words then we can learn off by heart and repeat them to ourselves when there is a need.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.

All is well.

This week some very spiritual words that you will all have heard before...

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.

At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver
Song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams
Be tossed and blown.
Walk on
Walk on
With hope in your hearts
And you'll never walk alone

...................................................................................................................................................................................

Our children today are much in need to steer them from material greed.

We pander to there every need without much thought for their future deeds.

We wonder why they don't seem content - when all they do is lament
I need I want I must have it now - to help me keep up and in with the crowed.

And as they get older the demands never fain and you hold your hands up and cry in vain.
So what can we learn from all this pain, that giving too much is very vane.

Hi Tom, this was my mum's friend the poem is about Somerset Place, maybe you or some others will remember her from the church I do hope so. Kay's mum was also a medium; she gave my mum her first reading over 30yrs ago now.

Poems by Kay McNnee
Kay was born Catherine Herdman Hyslop Brown
She was the great-great-great-granddaughter of the bard of Stornoway (Isle of Lewis) Donald MacDonald.
She passed on 13th September 2005.

  Tranquility

There's is a little place in Glasgow
that has become my second home,
Where people love to gather,
Just to learn their not alone.

There's a little place in Glasgow,
Where you'll always find a friend,
With the past and future joining hands,
And where broken hearts will mend.

In that little place in Glasgow,
You'll find your inner peace abound,
Tranquility and happiness,
Are always to be found.

To that little place in Glasgow,
People come from near and far,
To be guided by their loved once,
When they need that guiding star.

So if you ever feel alone,
Let your footsteps guide you there,
To that little place in Glasgow,
There a friend you're always near.

This week I thought I would add the words of the healing Hymn////

The Healing Hymn
Gracious Spirit, of Thy Goodness,
Hear our anxious prayer!
Take our loved ones who are suffering,
‘Neath Thy tender care.
Loving Father, hear us, hear us!
Gracious Spirit, may Thy Presence
Shed a Healing Ray,
Turning all their night of darkness
Into glorious day.
Loving Father, hear us, hear us!
Gracious Spirit, should’st Thou claim them,
Be their Light and Guide!
Lead them to the Heavenly Kingdom
Safely by Thy side.
Loving Father, hear us, hear us!

This week I have decided to have a change... Instead of giving readers to this site a chance to display their poems I have decided to display a poem that many will now, but I am sure you will never tire of hearing it.

DESIDERATA...

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Max Ehrmann c.1920

The common myth is that the Desiderata poem was found in a Baltimore church in 1692 and is centuries old, of unknown origin. Desiderata was in fact written around 1920 (although some say as early as 1906), and certainly copyrighted in 1927, by lawyer Max Ehrmann (1872-1945) based in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Desiderata myth began after Reverend Frederick Kates reproduced the Desiderata poem in a collection of inspirational works for his congregation in 1959 on church notepaper, headed: 'The Old St Paul's Church, Baltimore, AD 1692' (the year the church was founded). Copies of the Desiderata page were circulated among friends, and the myth grew, accelerated particularly when a copy of the erroneously attributed Desiderata was found at the bedside of deceased Democratic politician Aidlai Stevenson in 1965.
Whatever the history of Desiderata, the Ehrmann's prose is inspirational, and offers a simple positive credo for life.

Communication

Two sides of life,
seen and unseen.
Before and after,
what does it mean?

God lets us work,
in realms unseen.
Conveying love,
in days and dreams.

To know we can come through,
part the veil and say hello.
Support our loved ones,
and let them know.

That we can be angels
Here and beyond.
The link is there,
the message is care.

God’s ascended beings,
the Divine host.
Bring their special help
When we need it most.

Whatever we do,
the principle is true.
God’s love,
transcends all

The Tiger’s Plight...

I am without doubt the finest work of art
The most exquisite and powerful of all big cats
No master craftsman in all the land
Could capture my beauty – except God’s hand.

So majestic to look at – you’ll catch your breath
As you gaze at my powerful face and chest
Look into my eyes – my hypnotic stare
And image all the intelligence locked in there.

Such perfect streamline stripes of black
All over my golden body - even my back
Nothing could match the beauty of me
I am poetry in motion for the eye to see.

But my beauty is deadly don’t come too near
I’m armed with huge claws and teeth to fear
God made me like this to ensure I survive
If it was not for man I could stay alive.

Is it my divine beauty – he wishes to kill?
Or my mighty power which is outside his will?
I am a natural beauty - a powerful beast
Is he envious of the strength – I release?

How sorry will your children be –
if they never see the magic that’s me?
Do not let man extinguish me
I am part of this planet – so let me be.

While sitting in a park one day with our pet whippet Nico, Isobel wondered what he might be thinking and came up with this little poem

Love...

Oh Isobel, I love you so
You are my mum and care for me
You feed me well and give me treats
Hugs and kisses all day long
Oh Isobel, I do love you...

Oh Isobel, I love you so
You give me all and so much more
Your kindness is beyond recall
With all my heart these lines I write
Oh Isobel I do love you so.

      That Miracle Is You

      With times comes wisdom
      With wisdom comes lines
      The beauty and the character
      Of your face defines

      Each line tells a story
      Of a lifetime spent
All the pain you have suffered
All the love you have earned

      They tell of happiness
      Joy, struggles, and sorrow
      Your wisdom to pass on
      To the children of tomorrow

They show if you are bitter
Or have lived life with the flow
And they show all the lessons
      That your soul should know

      So wear them with pride
      Don't hide them away
They show how you have lived
      And learnt each day.

      Don't have them removed
      Or the treasures they hide
      Your lines show the beauty
      Of the miracle inside

      WHAT IS LOVE

WHAT IS LOVE THAT TIE THAT BINDS?
MORE IN YOUR HEARTS THAN JUST YOUR MINDS?
IS IT CARING FOR SOMEONE~BEFORE YOURSELF?
WORRYING IF THEY ARE IN GOOD HEALTH?
THE WORDS  I LOVE YOU ARE NICE TO HEAR
BUT IT,S DEEDS~NOT WORDS WHICH SHOW LOVE CLEAR
LOVE HAS NO IF,S OR BUTS, ATTACHED
WE KNOW IF IT,S REAL~INSIDE OUR HEARTS

      MUMS AND DADS~CHILDREN AND SISTERS
BROTHERS ~PARTNERS OR FUR WITH WHISKERS
      LOVE HAS MANY SOURCES
IT IS THE GREATEST~OF ALL LIFES FORCES
IT EXCEEDS TIME AND SPACE~AND ALL WE KNOW
IT MAKES OUR SPIRITS GROW AND GLOW

IS IT A FACE~WE LONG TO SEE?
SOMEONE WE NEED WHO LETS US BE FREE?
OR KNOWING THE WORLD WOULDN,T BE THE SAME
IF~ THEY NEVER CALLED YOUR NAME?

LOVE IS SOMETHING WORDS CAN,T DESCRIBE
YOU CAN ONLY FEEL IT ~ DEEP INSIDE
LOVE IS LOYAL~ WARM AND TRUE
IT,S INSIDE ME AND IT,S INSIDE YOU

      LOVE JUST IS

      MY GUARDIAN SPIRIT

My guardian spirit guides me each day.,
As I travel along life’s great highway
That small voice within shows me right from wrong
So over my problems I remain quite strong

I’m never alone for he’s always there
Pointing the way with his expert care
He teaches me always to learn and grow
As onward through life I continue to go

As the years roll by how wise we become,
For each lesson learnt the growth has begun
He shows such kindness when I do something wrong
Forgiving my errors as each come along

He’s with me when I’m sad, and happy too,
Again when I’m troubled with problems anew
He gives me encouragement, understanding and such
And always in him my life I entrust.

      No Need

      No need to say goodbye
when I had to let you go.
No need to say " I love you."
      because  you already know.

No need to say "I’m sorry."
for the tears I weep for you.
      I know you’ll understand
because you’d have done that too.

I know you’re always with me
in my heart,  my soul, my mind.
See, we were meant to love each other
      it wasn’t hard to find.

      I know well meet again
because love like life can't die
And that is why we never found
      the need to say goodbye.
