<\/strong>20th November I was at the
\nCollege of Parapsychology, Edinburgh.   The
\ncollege has an interesting programme throughout the year their website is worth

\n24th Was my last visit to
\nFife for the year and I was attending the Dunfermline Spiritualist Church, 3
\nLady Campbell\u2019s walk.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n27th Only a few miles up
\nthe road to ASK Neilston for a workshop.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n28th \u2013 There was a big
\nturnout at the Larkfield Spiritualist Church, Blantyre.  This church opened its doors in 2007 and was
\nquickly accepted by the community.  <\/b>The <\/b>church
\nsupports many causes including Hessilhead Wildlife centre in Ayrshire www.hessilheadwildlife.org.uk<\/a> <\/b>where we are
\ncurrently sponsoring a roe deer named Scoobie.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n1st \u2013 December I was at the
\nAyr Spiritualist Centre, 10 Alloway Place.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n2nd \u2013 There was a good
\nturnout at the Pollockshaws and District Spiritualist Church.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n3rd \u2013 Another good turnout
\nfor The Central Glasgow Spiritualist Church\u2019s Tuesday afternoon service.  64 Berkeley Street, Glasgow, G3 7DS<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n4th \u2013 I had a short journey
\ndown the road to The Kilwinning Temple of Light Spiritualist Church,
\nKilwinning.  This was one of the first
\nchurches I took a service at.  This has
\nalways been a church that has been well supported by the local community.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n5th Weather caused me to
\npostpone the development circle.  In all
\nthe years \u2013 even in bad winters I have seldom had to cancel because of the
\nweather.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n8th \u2013I took the Divine
\nService at Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church on a very wet evening.  So wet that parts of the road were flooded
\nand I am surprised there was a congregation.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n9th \u2013 I was again back at
\nKilmarnock and it was a privilege to share the platform with three of the churches
\nfledglings.   Well done Andy, Elizabeth and Nadine And I
\nwould like to take this opportunity to thank the Kilmarnock church for letting
\nme play a part in the development of their fledglings…<\/div>\n

\n\u201cIt is a
\nmockery of divine justice to think that death-bed repentance will wipe away all
\nthe wrongs you have done\u201d.  <\/i>Yet there
\nare many in other religions who believe a death-bed admission of wrong will
\nclear the path in Heaven for their new life. 
\nThat is why I look on our 5th Principle- Personal Responsibility \u2013 <\/i>as being so important and makes it on par
\nwith the Clairvoyance in making us so different from other religions <\/div>\n
\n

And my thoughts above fitted in perfectly
\nwhen asked at a discussion<\/strong> group recently, \u201cWhat is the biggest gulf to bridge between
\nSpiritualism and Christianity\u201d…<\/i>  As
\nI was the only Spiritualist attending I am sure I shocked everyone by not
\ncoming out with \u201c\u201dClairvoyance\u201d.  <\/i>I opted for \u201cOur 5th Principle \u2013 Personal Responsibility\u201d.<\/i><\/strong><\/strong><\/div>\n

\n

As Spiritualists we are responsible for our own actions and that no one
\ncan bear them for us.  We cannot look on
\na death-bed confession as a guarantee of forgiveness and we will have nothing
\nto answer for as we move into a new existence. 
\nTo do as we please during our prime and then to utter a few words as
\nthis life slips away thinking all will be forgiven, surely does not say much
\nfor us as an individual or do anything for the reputation of our religion.    We
\nknow that as we discard this physical body it is not the end.  The more effort we put into taking Personal Responsibility <\/i>for our own
\ndeeds in this life, the smoother it will be for us in our next life.<\/strong><\/div>\n

\n

Some of those attending were shocked that I did not pray on a daily basis
\nthat my sins be forgiven.  Several of the
\ngroup kept repeating \u201c\u201dWe are all sinners
\n\u2013 including you\u201d.  <\/i>Yes, I don\u2019t think
\nanyone leads a perfect life but we just cannot go along each day collecting
\nyellow and red cards, to use a football expression, and then to mutter a few
\nwords at the end of each day to get these cards rescinded.  And even we Spiritualists carrying Personal Responsibility <\/i>to the fore
\ncannot lead faultless lives.  These days
\nwe are part of an almighty rat race and the best we can do is hopefully making
\nthe right decision at the time.  If later
\nwe feel we could have acted differently then we can comfort ourselves by
\nknowing that we did what we felt was right at the time.<\/strong><\/div>\n

\n

Some religions = a religion of salvation by
\nconformity, whilst Spiritualism = a religion of progression by endeavour. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

One gentleman on the night brought up what I
\nthought was a comical but also serious food for thought \u201cJust say I am happy to go through life being greedy and tramping on the
\ntoes of others.  Having the best life I
\ncan, relying on the insurance of asking for forgiveness on my death-bed.  THEN SUDDENLY \u2013 I drop dead in the High
\nStreet… What becomes of me in the thereafter? There was no time to say I am
\nsorry\u201d.  <\/i><\/div>\n

I am not making fun or being anti other religions
\nbut I feel that one should be able to look openly at their religion and see if
\nwhat they have been led to believe over the years adds up…  <\/p><\/div>\n

\nThe Kilmarnock Spiritualist
\nChurch, founded in 1936 this church has long been a place of welcome, support
\nand learning for all those who have entered its doors. This church is proud to
\nbe affiliated to the SNU, the leading Spiritualist organization in the UK.  And a quote from the church\u2019s website.  \u201cThis
\nchurch offers an open door to all who wish to enter and hope the saying \u201c…there
\nare no strangers here , only friends who have yet to meet\u201d holds true for all
\nwho do\u201d . <\/i>For those living within traveling distance of the Kilmarnock
\nchurch and want to know a little more about Spiritualism the Tuesday Group is
\nsomething you may consider.  This friendly
\ninformal group meets at 2pm to investigate and explore all aspects of
\nSpiritualism A very varied and interesting programme is in place and all
\nmembers and non members alike are welcome to attend<\/i><\/div>\n

\nServices <\/b>are held throughout the week

\n\u2014and 11am on a Saturday.<\/div>\n

\n The highlight of the year
\nfor many as far as Spiritualism is concerned  is \u201cThe
\nKilmarnock Experience\u201d.  <\/i>This is a <\/i> fantastic
\nteaching  weekend of lectures , workshops and demonstrations with highly
\nacclaimed mediums and tutors .
\nThis is an opportunity to continue to develop and expand your psychic,
\nspiritual and
\nmediumistic potential to the fullest in an atmosphere of harmony and fellowship.<\/i><\/div>\n

\nOne of the pleasures of being on the
\nplatform of Kilmarnock Spiritualist Church is that on the platform one gets to
\nadmire the amazing stain glass window in memory of Duncan Bicket who was
\npresident of the church for close on three decades.  I find that I get great inspiration from
\nlooking at the window during the service, whether it is daylight or the street
\nlight that is shining through.    My only
\nregret is that the congregation are not facing this beautiful window throughout
\nthe service.<\/div>\n

\nDear God, please send me somebody who\u2019ll care\u2026
\nI\u2019m so tired of running and sick with despair.
\nMy body is aching and filled with such pain,
\nAnd I pray for a cure as I run through the rain.<\/p>\n

That someone will love me and give me a home,
\nA warm cozy bed, and food of my own.
\nMy last owner left me alone in the yard\u2026
\nI watched as they moved, and man that was hard.<\/p>\n

So I waited a while, then went on my way,
\nTo rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
\nBut now, I\u2019m so tired and hungry and cold,
\nAnd I\u2019m so afraid that I will never grow old.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve chased me with sticks and hit with straps,
\nWhile I run through the street just looking for scraps.

Since its resurrection in December 2011the Psychic
\nNews has went from strength to strength and is now a glossy monthly magazine.  But I hope that this magazine does not become
\nall glamour, glitter and celebrities.  We
\nneed more space for letters from readers, articles on the experience of the
\nordinary people who attend our churches…<\/p>\n

2013 – Looking Back…..<\/p>\n

Over the past few years I have been
\nconcerned about the closure of community halls and the increase in rental of
\nthose which stay open.  But so far this
\nhas not had too much of an impact on our churches.  Long may it remain that way?<\/p>\n

\nHaving it confirmed by the SNU that
\nthey will take action against any award holder that gives a demonstration of
\nclairvoyance where drink is consumed.  We
\nonly need our churches to follow suit as far as the mediums that appear on
\ntheir platforms.<\/div>\n

The entertainment side still grows but
\nmaybe not as fast as in recent years.<\/p>\n

\nThe ego, fame and fortune still clings
\nto the coat tails of our religion and is something that is not going to go away
\nunless we meet it head on.<\/div>\n

But I have seen worse years as far as
\n\u2018Spiritualism the Religion is concerned.<\/p>\n
