\n13th January saw me take my first service
\nof the year at Falkirk and District 8
\nBurnhead
\nLane (SNU), Falkirk, FK1 1UG.  As I have
\nmentioned several times in the past that this church not only has its own
\npremises but it uses them to the full with something going on most nights of
\nthe week.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n16th… 
\nI was taking part in a discussion on \u2018Reincarnation<\/i>\u2019.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n17th… I was taking a development Class
\nand although the numbers were small there was plenty of enthusiasm.  Not that I am complaining as a few
\nenthusiastic people are better that a full room of people who are only half
\ninterested.  I only hope that those
\nattending enjoyed the night as much as I did.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n20t… This time to the Stirling
\nSpiritualist Church, 27 King Street, Stirling, FK8 1DN.  The weather was Ok going but we had to drive
\nthrough a snowstorm on the way home…<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n27th This time it was south instead of
\nnorth to the Ayr Spiritualist Centre (SNU) 10 Alloway Place, Ayr,<\/b> KA7 2AA. 
\n This turned out to be a special;
\nnight as after the service a surprise tea for long time member and committee
\nmember of the Centre Marjory Hatherill who was celebrating her 80th
\nbirthday.  Marjory flings her heart and
\nsoul into the Centre, her main interest being healing.  She also enjoys the after class where she has
\nbeen known to be very accurate with her readings.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n30th…  It was back to continue the discussion on \u2018Reincarnation\u2019<\/i> where we left off the
\nweek before.  Those attending the first
\nsession decided that two hours was not enough time to get fully in to this
\ncontroversial subject as far as Spiritualism is concerned.  <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\n <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMany of us, even within Spiritualism, can mistake
\nour own \u2018psychic abilities\u2019 thinking what we are experiencing is a link from Spirit.  Our sixth
\nsense<\/i> – our psychic ability<\/i> – is
\nsomething we all have but many don\u2019t know they have this 6th sense<\/i>.  Around
\nthis time last year gave a talk on \u201cUnderstanding
\nYour Psychic Abilities<\/i>\u201d.  Unknown to
\nme at the time my words had given a gentleman in the audience food for thought
\nand it was only last week he approached me with the following story…<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n He has given
\nme the OK to tell his story on here so as long as I change his name, so I will
\nrefer to him as Alec.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAlec had studied hard at college for his chosen
\nprofession but once in that line of work he found his heart was not in it. He moved
\non to several different jobs with the same results. Eventually a friend of
\nAlec\u2019s father offered him a job in his Estate Agents business.  Alec having no interest in such a job at that
\ntime and only took it till something more suitable came along.   But he took to this line of work like a fish
\nto water.   <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAs time went on he felt he maybe had the gift of
\nfortune telling.  Entering a property for
\nthe first time he could tell if it would sell almost as soon as it went on the market,
\nsoon after it was on the agencies books, or it would be extremely difficult to
\nmove on.  This he felt was more than just
\nthe experience one gets with years in a job. 
\nThere could be two houses right next door to each other or in the same
\nstreet with their upkeep, decor and garden in the same condition, yet he could instantly
\ntell how quickly or slowly they would take to move on.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAlec started to get carried away with this talent he
\nfelt he had.  He boasted to his family
\nand friends about his fortune telling abilities.  But he was soon deflated when others put him
\nto the test.  His predictions of score
\ndraws were never all that accurate so his friends did not become rich by
\ngetting twenty-four points on treble chance. 
\nIt was the same negative results with the National Lottery.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSo Alec decided he may not be a Fortune Teller after
\nall and just be in the perfect job for him. 
\nHe had quickly learned to have an eye for a quick selling property.  His wife said it was just the experience he
\nhad gained over the years but all this did not sit too well with Alec.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe did a little bit of investigation into predicting
\nthe future and a friend suggested he visit a Spiritualist Church for answers.
\nHe was given a short shrift response by a representative of the church, who said
\nto him in a loud and scolding voice
\n\u201cFortune Telling has nothing to do with Spiritualism\u201d.  <\/i>Yes that is correct, but surely she could
\nhave taken a little more time to hear Alec\u2019s story and maybe have given him a
\nbit of advice.<\/i><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nYears passed with Alec thinking there was more too
\nall this and looked forward with interest to my talk to a club he belonged
\ntoo.  Once a month they have a guest
\nspeaker but never before on such a topic \u201cUnderstanding
\nYour Psychic Abilities\u201d.<\/i><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nA few weeks ago Alec phoned me and said – \u201cYour talk was most interesting, but unlike
\nany other talk I have heard at the club, your words were not forgotten by the
\nfollowing day.  I tried to relate what
\nyou said to my own life and so much seems to fall into place.  So many of my questions appear to have been
\nanswered.    I started to pick out certain properties and
\nconcentrated on the owners or tenants before the sale of many of the properties
\nI had been involved with…  Now I
\nbelieve I was picking up the happy or the sad vibes that came from those
\nfamilies, the memories they left behind. 
\nMy sixth sense was picking up these vibrations\u201d.<\/i><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nFirst my talk and then Alec\u2019s research made him
\nrealise why he was so accurate with  how
\neasy or difficult it would be to sell a particular property.  It was with his \u2018psychic awareness\u2019<\/i> not \u2018predictions\u2019.  <\/i>If Alec was sensing positive and
\ncomfortable vibes when he entered the properties then prospective buyers would
\nfeel the same.  The Estate Agent went on
\nto give many examples that were similar to the experiences I and other psychic
\nresearchers feel when entering a property. 
\n In fact I am sure most looking at
\na house for the first time feel positive or negative vibes.  \u201cThis
\nhouse is for me…  I knew right away
\nthis house was what I have been looking for…. From the minute I stepped
\nthrough the door I felt I could not be happy there\u201d.<\/i><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSo how much is your psychic abilities <\/i>kicking in to different aspects of your life yet
\nyou have paid little attention to it?<\/div>\n

\nIf
\nI said to you the address of the church was at the corner of Paoth and Kangaroo
\nRoads you would soon realise that the church is in Australia.  The church in question is the Hughesdale  Spiritual Church.  Spiritualist Medium Moira McMillan has been
\nPresident of the church for fourteen years. 
\nWe have been good friends for many years after we made contact on a
\nwebsite on Spiritualism.  I asked Moira
\nif she would like to tell us a little about her church and its history.<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe church came into being in 1976 when
\na small group of ladies decided it too far to travel to the city church each week.
\n When approached for rental space
\nthe local council was a bit concerned!  What was this strange church?   However they gave permission and the church
\nbegan with only a few dollars to their name. 
\nThe early days were spent doing a lot of fund raising; psychic days were
\npopular and well attended.  The leader
\nbeing of  Scottish decent did very well and it is due to their efforts and
\ninvestments that we are able today to continue the work of the church despite
\nrising costs and more Insurance demands made on us.   This church
\ncame into being 37 years ago and we still meet in the same hall.<\/i><\/strong><\/div>\n

\n<\/p>\n

The church offered a Sunday
\nservice, medium-ship development, healing, and today we offer the same
\nthing.   Two of our committee running
\ndevelopment classes in their homes and a healing group meeting every two weeks.
\nOf course companionship with like minded people is a big factor and comfort for
\nthose who are troubled or in need.<\/i><\/strong><\/div>\n

\n<\/p>\n

Our Committee is small, a total of
\n5 dedicated people who work together in harmony week in week out. We also
\nhave a small number of church members who are willing to lend a hand when
\nneeded. As we meet in a public hall there is setting up and packing up to
\nattend to and we welcome those extra hands.   We do have a book stall
\nto provide suitable reading to those interested in the many subjects
\npertaining to our work with Spirit.   Membership is around 50 but as
\nin any church the attendance varies.  Mostly
\nabout 18 but this can go higher or lower on any given week.<\/i><\/strong><\/div>\n

Most of our mediums come from around the
\nMelbourne area; one comes by driving nearly two hours from his country home, others
\nfrom outer Melbourne including the nearby Dandenong ranges\u201d.<\/i><\/strong><\/div>\n

\nThis was also my mother\u2019s favourite hymn and she asked for it to be sung
\nat her funeral.  Almost all of us have

I <\/strong>will be taking a series of
\nWorkshops at the Glasgow Association of Spiritualists during 2013.  The first one of the year is a workshop for
\nall levels of development and is on Saturday 23th February 2013.<\/div>\n

The title for it is:
\n“Understanding Your Psychic Abilities”.  It starts at 10am and finishes at
\n4pm. Tickets are now available from the
\nchurch office and are priced at \u00a315 for each workshop, places on the workshops
\nare limited, so it is advisable to get your<\/strong> ticket as soon as possible.  The workshops are designed for mixed
\nlevels of development including beginners.  Participants are advised to bring a
\npacked lunch.<\/div>\n
